At last

At last I managed to get down to the nature reserve, all be it only for about an hour, but it was just great to be there. it has been a scorching hot day here in the Midlands, and I managed to forget my hat, so I am now sporting a very red head Lol. I only managed a few grab shots but I have posted them anyway. The first is just a scenic shot in bright light, then there is one I am not quite sure of, I thought they were Bluebells, but now I am not sure , they maybe some cultivated species, if anyone knows, please let me know. Then lastly there is a shot of Wild Garlic flower in dappled light, plenty of these about at the moment with their pungent aroma. I must get around to try and use these in cooking sometime.

  2. I'm almost certain the bluebell is the Spanish Bluebell which is sold in garden centres, it hybidizers with our native bluebell and is threat to our native bluebell stocks.(ref.internet)

  3. Thanks Dave, that is interesting, it was growing in a small clump, which is what made me suspicious. It was actually along a footpath leading to the nature resrve. I will go away and look it up now.
