I was looking back at some of the pics I took last winter, I thought they might be of interest. The Kingfisher seems to move off the river onto the nature reserve pond in the winter, presumably
there is more food available. They also do this in the summer when the river is in flood.
There is always quite a few Long Tail Tits around in the winter as well. I don't know what others think, but this pic seems to almost have a Japanese print feel to it.
As - that LTT gets the cute prize! Lovely picture of the Kingfisher. The out-of-focus branches (don't they always get in the way!) give the picture a lovely soft look which enhances the bird. Nice one.
ReplyDeleteHi Tricia
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments. Yes I did feel a bit like David Bellamy poking my lens through the undergrowth LOL.
Cheers Colin.
Hiya Colin,
ReplyDeleteGreat photos you are posting here - informative and also artistic. Lovely grass snake shot in an earlier post, and the Small Tortoiseshell on thistle too, in fact all of them!
Best wishes for the new blog,
Rob
Thanks for the encouraging remarks, they are very much appreciated.
ReplyDeleteCheers Colin.
Hello Colin,
ReplyDeleteI like the first picture very much. It looks artistic - like a mixture of a photo and a painting. The dark pink leaves and blurred violetish background makes the atmosphere of the picture.
Lovely pictures of the Long-tailed tit and Kingfisher.

Hi Colin. Nice to meet a blogger that's just down the road, so to speak. I particularly liked your shot of the long tailed tit... one of my favourite birds. It's always a delight when they visit my garden.
