Gatekeeper

I am sat at the computer loading some pics, whilst drinking coffee and eating some of my wifes homemade flapjack, what could be better?. Anyway I thought I would post this shot of a Gatekeeper taken yesterday at the nature reserve, shame about the chunk missing out of the right hand side wing. As far as I can make out this particular pattern on the wings means that it is a female.

  1. I have a 'hit-list' of butterflies I would very much like to see and hopefully photograph and Gatekeepers are on the list. Despite the wing damage, the picture is lovely. COngratulations.

  2. That's a lovely picture. Do you know the names of all butterflies?
